If you don’t know how to choose right mode of transportation when travelling to Vietnam, this is some short descriptions of a common used city transportation in Vietnam

On Foot

Visiting and discovering the beauty of the whole city by foot is the smart choice if you want to feel the real life of this city and have a chance to enjoy the delicious street cuisine of Vietnam. Hanoi, Danang, Hoian or Dalat are some famous city where you can visit on foot is the best way.

However, we’d like to mention that Vietnam traffic congested and chaotic, going through Vietnam road is quite dangerous and sometimes interesting and also bring the great memory about Vietnam.

Vietnam City Bus

Vietnam City bus is the cheapest way for expats travelling around Vietnam city. The price for each route is fixed about VND 7000/ pax. But usually bus stop is almost not near city attractions and you have to go on foot to these destinations.

Xich lo

Cyclo or Xich Lo- cheap, environmentally friendly mode of transport is steadily dying out and is still found in Vietnam’s main cities.

The fares are between VND 10,000 - VND 15,000 for a short ride, between VND 20,000 -VND 35,000 for a longer or around VND 40,000 per hour.

Vietnam Xe Om

Xe ôm

Xe Om is motorbike taxi and gets around by Xe Om is easy if you don’t have a lot of luggage. Fares are comparable and depend on how long your trip is. There are plenty of xe om drivers hanging around street corners, markets, hotels and bus stations.

Taxis are found in most major cities and reasonable price by international standard and also a safe way travel around at night. The average fare is around VND 10,000- VND 15,000/ kilometre

Some reputable taxi companies and reasonable prices are Thanh Nga, Mai Linh. Please well- noted with scam drivers by checking with the metre before starting going.
