Tien Giang is located north of the Mekong Delta, adjacent to the Tien River. It’s famous for large fruit farms, floating markets and beautiful nature. It’s one of delta provinces which have 3 separate regions: fruit region next to Tien river, Dong Thap Muoi region and Go Cong coastal region
The best time to visit
Tien Giang has two distinct seasons: the dry season lasts from December to April next year and the rainy season is between May and November. Annual average temperature is 27oC. The best time to travel is year around.
How to get there
Mytho City is 70km from Vinh Long, 70km from Ho Chi Minh City, and 103km from Can Tho City, 179km from Chau Doc, 182km from Rach Gia.
- Road: There are bus connections with VinhLong, ChauDoc, CaMau, and other destinations in the Mekong Delta.
- Water: A high-speed boat leaves from HoChiMinh City daily to Mytho and CanTho. There are also boat tours around Mytho.

Cai Be floating market
Cai Be floating market is one of the many well-known floating markets in the western region of southern Vietnam was formed in the Nguyen Dynasty in the 19th century.This market is placed on the Tien River which happened all day include night time. Tourist can find any kind of fruits at this market, and all of them are much cheaper. Along with the river, there are many gardens.
Vinh Trang Pagoda
Vinh Trang Pagoda located in a large garden in My Phong Commune, My Tho City, Tien Giang Province. This pagoda is a harmonious combination of Asian and European types of architecture, creating the splendid, but simple features of this Buddhist pagoda. And this is the greatest pagoda of Tien Giang Province.
Dong Tam Snake-Breeding Farm
Dong Tam is the center of snake breeding for taking venom for exportation, as well as medicinal plant cultivation and the study and treatment of snake-bites, for people in the Cuu Long River Delta. There are also crocodiles and other species of birds and animals on hand.
Dieu Hoa pagoda
It located at 101 – Trinh Hoai Duc Street. The pagoda was an accommodation of Nguyen dynasty officials when they were working in the local. This is also the place where has preserved many tangible and intangible values of the local.

Visiting is the popular tour among both domestic and foreign tourists. Tien Giang is famous for fruit farms, fruits are divided into the distinct seasons: Mango season- Mar and Apr, of rambutan and durian- May, Jun and Jul.

Hu Tieu, a type of noodle, is the famous specialty of Tien Giang. Hu Tieu is also a popular dish in Southern Vietnam, but in Tien Giang, it’s really very different. Travellers can try Hu Tieu Tien Giang at Vegetarian Hu Tieu, Sa te Huong Hu Tieu.
